Charities at Canara Union
From it’s inception, Charities was one of it’s important activities at The Canara Union. Donations are received from our generous community members (donated by them in memory of their beloved deceased family members or in celebration of a living member) and these are all kept in Fixed Deposits. The Donors donate money towards a specific cause which they specify. The interest earned from these Fixed Deposits under the respective head during the year is disbursed amongst the needy families of the community. Standard applications are distributed amongst the applicants. On receipt of the filled applications, they are vetted by a specific committee formed for this and if found they meet the requirements money is disbursed.
How Do I Contribute?
Indian Passport Holders / Institutions
Donations can be made through Cheques / NEFT / RTGS to the
respective accounts specified in the donation form below:
Foreign Passport Holders / Institutions
Donations can be made through bank transfer to our designated FCRA Account at State Bank of India, New Delhi, Main Branch
Annual Medical Relief
This fund ensures that members of our community receive timely medical care when faced with illness or injury. It covers essential treatment costs for those unable to afford them, safeguarding their health and dignity.
Your contribution helps our own people access life-saving support when they need it most.
Annual Distress Relief
Life’s uncertainties can cause sudden hardships for families within our community. This fund provides immediate financial aid during emergencies, helping affected members regain stability.
By contributing, you stand by our own in their most difficult moments.
Annual Scholarship Fund
Education is the foundation of a strong community. This fund awards scholarships to deserving students from our own, ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder their academic dreams.
Your support helps nurture the next generation of leaders from within our fold.
Special Monthly Distress Relief
This was started when Covid-19 struck India, whereby many lost their jobs, businesses or earning members. We have identified some needy families from this list who haven’t come out of this situation and give them a sum of money every month.
